Will consider CBI probe: Nitish Kumar on Bihar journalist killing
Patna, May 16 (IBNS) Reiterating that no one has been spared, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said if required he would agree to a CBI probe into the killing of journalist in the state besides the killing of a teen by his party legislator's son.
"All have been arrested. We will also try to ensure speedy trial," he said on Monday about the killings.
"No one will be spared," he said adding that killing of journalists is like attack on the government itself. He said he would ask the Centre for a CBI probe into journalist killing if needed.
"I will do my work irrespective of criticism. I am answerable to the people," he said.
A 45-year-old journalist in Bihar's Siwan district was shot dead in which former RJD lawmaker Mohd Shahabuddin's link was suspected, media reports said.
According to police, links are now surfacing that relate the murder to close associates of Shahabuddin, who happened to be one of Bihar's most notorious gangsters.
Shahabuddin is currently lodged in the Siwan Jail and has been convicted for crimes like murder and kidnapping.
Senior journalist Rajdev Ranjan was shot dead by miscreants in Bihar's Siwan district on Friday last.
He was the bureau chief of the Hindi daily Hindustan.
He was shot dead close to Siwan's railway station.
Earlier, Rocky, the son of JD-U legislator Manorama Devi, was arrested two days after he allegedly shot dead Aditya, the son of a businessman, for overtaking his vehicle in Gaya, on May 7.
Aditya Sachdeva was driving home with friends in his Maruti Swift when he overtook Rocky's Range Rover. Rocky was travelling from Bodh Gaya to Gaya along with his friends.
According to the complaints lodged with police, Rocky first intercepted Aditya's vehicle, beat him up and then shot him on the head.
