Sunnyvale, Dec 15 (IBNS): Internet giant Yahoo has said that a billion user accounts may have been affected by a hack in 2013, reports said.

In a recent statement the company said that passwords, phone numbers, names and email addresses were stolen by the hackers, however, they said that the hackers did not have access to bank details of the users.

Yahoo said that it 'believes an unauthorized third party, in August 2013, stole data associated with more than one billion user accounts'.

The company also said that it is working closely with the police and authorities to crack down the case.
