| @indiablooms | Jan 10, 2020, at 04:33 pm

Guwahati/IBNS: The Union government prohibited electronic-cigarette and parts thereof through promulgation of The Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Ordinance, 2019.

Regular e-cigarette use is not only associated with adverse effects on cardiovascular and respiratory system but also negatively affects the part of the brain of an average adolescent.

In fact, the other harmful and addictive effects arising out of used chemicals/ solvents in e-cigarettes are covered by blending it with attractiveness through sleek design and promotional advertisements.

Further, these advertisements create a false notion of safety which makes the children and adolescents most vulnerable to those offensive products.

Hence, they need to be made aware of harmful effects of such products. The detailed information on the matter can be accessed at https:// ntcp.nhp.nhp.gov.in.

The HEIs have been directed to prohibit the use of electronic cigarettes in their campus and make the student aware of the bad effects of e-cigarettes and the harm the nicotine in any form can do to their growing brain.

Prof Rajnish Jain, Secretary of University Grants Commission issued the notification vide D.O.No.1-9/ 2006 (CPP-II) dated January 7, 2020 directed to all colleges affiliated to their university.
