Coronavirus outbreak in China: 97 patients die in a day

Beijing/IBNS: China recorded nearly 97 new Coronavirus deaths in a day taking the toll to 908, media reports said on Monday.

The death of 97 people is the highest casualty reported due to the disease in a single day so far.

Chinese health authorities said Monday it received reports of 3,062 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection and 97 deaths on Sunday from 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, reported Xinhua news agency.

Among the deaths, 91 were in Hubei Province, two in Anhui, as well as one in Heilongjiang, Jiangxi, Hainan and Gansu provinces respectively, according to China's National Health Commission, the Chinese news agency reported.

632 patients were discharged from the hospital on Sunday.
