Bhubaneswar/IBNS: Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) undertook extensive relief operations in the aftermath of Cyclone Arnab to provide timely assistance to communities affected in Ganjam district, Odisha.

As part of the ongoing humanitarian response, two Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH), operating from Coast Guard Air Enclave Bhubaneswar, undertook multiple sorties to deliver essential relief materials to cyclone-affected areas.

The helicopters air-dropped critical supplies, including food provisions and drinking water, to provide immediate assistance to affected communities, particularly in areas where access to essential commodities may have been disrupted due to the impact of the cyclone.

The relief operations were conducted in close coordination with the State authorities, ensuring that assistance reached the affected population in a timely and effective manner.

The deployment of Coast Guard aviation assets facilitated rapid delivery of essential supplies, reinforcing the importance of coordinated efforts among various agencies during disaster response operations.

The Indian Coast Guard remains committed to extending humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) support during natural calamities and other emergencies.

Its operational preparedness, professional expertise and dedicated personnel continue to play a vital role in safeguarding lives and providing assistance to communities in distress.

Through swift mobilisation, sustained aerial operations and seamless coordination with civil authorities, the Indian Coast Guard has once again reaffirmed its commitment to serving the nation and standing by its citizens in times of need.
