Death toll from Colombia landslide increases to 33
Bogota/IBNS/UNI: The number of people killed in a landslide in Colombia’s Choco Department rose to 33, with 20 others sustaining injuries, Colombian magazine Semana reported on Saturday, citing local officials.
On Friday, a landslide occurred on the road between the cities of Quibdo and Medellin in the Carmen de Atrato municipality in the west of the country.
Colombian media reported that the landslide also destroyed a house near the road, trapping under the rubble some 50 people who were inside the house at that time.
