Delhi- NCR feel tremors as mild quake hits Faridabad, no casualty

Delhi and areas of NCR felt mild tremors when a 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck on Sunday afternoon.

As per the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake struck at around 4:08 pm.

It said the epicentre for the quake was nine kilometres east of Faridabad and 30 kilometres southeast of Delhi.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:3.1, Occurred on 15-10-2023, 16:08:16 IST, Lat: 28.41 & Long: 77.41, Depth: 10 Km, Location: 9km E of Faridabad, Haryana, India," NCS said on X.

The earthquake comes days after similar strong jolts were felt on October 3 around the national capital.

At that time, Nepal recorded a 6.2 magnitude earthquake. Other cities in the region such as Lucknow and Bareilly had also experienced the tremors.
