India fights COVID-19: Death toll climbs to 590

New Delhi/IBNS:  The death toll due to the highly infectious COVID-19 now stands at 590, as per Indian government data released on Tuesday.

The number of COVID-19 positive cases in the country now stands at 18,601.

There are 14759 active cases in the country.

So far, 3251 people have been discharged.

A total of 78 new novel Coronavirus cases have surfaced in Delhi in the past 24 hours, taking the count to 2081, office of the Chief Minister said here on Monday night.

The figure includes 1,603 active cases and 431 recovered, the CMO Delhi posted on micro-blogging site twitter.

Till date, 47 people in Delhi have lost their lives due to the pandemic.

The disease, which is believed to have emerged from China, now touched nearly all the countries across the globe.
