India's Covid-19 tally surges past 6.2 lakhs, death toll at 18,213
New Delhi/UNI: India's Novel Coronavirus tally surged to 6,25,544 on Friday as it registered a record breaking single-day spike of 20,903 infections.
According to the health ministry, the death toll across the country has now reached 18,213 after 379 more people lost their battle to the virus.
However, with the improving recovery rate in the country, 3,79,892 cases have so far been cured and discharged, which are 1,52,453 more than that of the cases under active medical supervision in the country which stands at 2,27,439.
As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, so far 92,97,749 samples have been tested for the virus till Thursday.
