New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘red alert’ for Pune, Palghar and Satara in Maharashtra. An orange alert has been issued for Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Nashik.

The weatherman had forecast heavy rainfall for Bihar, Jharkhand, South Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, and East Madhya Pradesh on Saturday due to the influence of a low-pressure area.

West Madhya Pradesh is expected to experience extremely heavy rainfall on August 3 and 4, while Gujarat, Konkan, and Goa will face similar conditions on August 3.

The monsoon is anticipated to remain active across Northwest, Central, and East India over the next 3-4 days.

IMD Rain Forecast:

- Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is anticipated in East Madhya Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, the Gujarat region, and Konkan & Goa.

- Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in West Madhya Pradesh (until August 5), Chhattisgarh, Konkan & Goa (until August 4), Madhya Maharashtra (until August 6), Gujarat, and East Madhya Pradesh (until August 4).

- Isolated very heavy rainfall is expected in East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka, and Coastal Karnataka (until August 4).
