Nipah virus claims three lives in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, May 21 (IBNS): A mysterious virus 'Nipah' has attacked Kerala's Kozhikode, which has claimed three lives from the same family, media reports said.
Following the deaths, the centre has sent a team to Kerala.
Two of the victims were brothers; the third, a woman, was a relative who had visited them in hospital, said reports.
The situation has led to a statewide alert.
The state government has opened a 24-hour control room to monitor the situation.
