Rajasthan records 61 new Covid cases, tally reaches 5,906

Jaipur/UNI: Rajasthan on Wednesday added 61 fresh cases to its novel coronavirus tally, pushing the total number of infections to 5,906, while the death toll stood at 143.

Among the fresh cases, maximum 17 surfaced in Nagaur, followed by 11 in Dungarpur, eight each in Jhunjhunu and Sikar, six in Kota, four in Sirohi, three in Udaipur, two in Jaipur while one each in Jhalawar and Baran.

As per the Health department, the active cases in the state are 1,890 while 3,068 patients have recovered, of which 2,666 have been discharged.

Expanding the state tally, 259 cases were recorded in Ajmer, 36 in Alwar, 72 in Banswara, five in Baran, 50 in Barmer, 129 in Bharatpur, 82 in Bhilwara, 65 in Bikaner, 160 in Chittorgarh, 49 in Churu, 39 in Dausa, 28 in Dholpur, 222 in Dungarpur, 14 in Hanumangarh, 1,642 in Jaipur, 59 in Jaisalmer, 97 in Jhalore, 51 in Jhalawar, 68 in Jhunjhunu, 1,110 in Jodhpur, 48 in BSF, 10 in Karauli, 337 in Kota, 213 in Nagaur, 209 in Pali, seven in Pratapgarh, 53 in Rajsamand, 17 in Sawai Madhopur, 69 in Sirohi, 60 in Sikar, 154 in Tonk while 420 in Udaipur.

So far, 2,54,533 samples have been tested, out of which 5,906 tested positive, 2,44,955 negative while result of 2,386 awaited, the Health department informed.
