Hanoi/Xinhua: Vietnam confirmed a new COVID-19 case in the community on Saturday after going through nearly 100 days without any local cases, Vietnam News Agency reported.

The latest case, which brought the total in the country to 416 as of Saturday morning, is a 57-year-old man from central Da Nang city who reportedly has not left the city for a month and mostly stayed at home to take care of his grandchild, according to the report.

The city has taken medical samples of more than 100 people in contact with the man and the results all returned negative for COVID-19, said the health ministry.

The ministry has mobilized a working group including leading experts of the country to help handle the disease in Da Nang, according to the report.

Among 416 cases in Vietnam, 365 patients have recovered from the disease and no deaths of COVID-19 have been recorded so far, according to the health ministry.
