Indian Market: Sensex jumps over 500 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday rallied 526.49 points at 57,591.36 on the strength of Materials, Energy, Finance and FMCG stocks.

The Nifty too rose by 151 points at 17,134.20.

The Sensex registered the days high and low at 57,765.47 and 57,365.85 points respectively.

The Nifty registered the days high and low at 17,202.05 and 17,079.75 points respectively.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.20 and 0.01 per cent respectively.

In 30 scrips, 22 advanced while 8 declined.

The gainers were IndusInd Bank by 3.61 per cent to Rs 915.50, Maruti Suzuki by 2.43 per cent to Rs 7258, HDFC by 2.20 per cent to Rs 2735.15, Tech Mahindra by 2.15 per cent to Rs 1574.25 and HCL Technology by 1.67 per cent to Rs 1158.35.

The losers were Dr Reddy's Lab by 1.16 per cent to Rs 4626.85, M& M by 0.68 per cent to Rs 830.10, Sun Pharma by 0.50 per cent to Rs 750.20 and Titan by 0.40 per cent to Rs 2365.45.
