Indian Market: Sensex up by over 200 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Friday further gained by 283 pts to open at 59,960.39 as buying was seen across the board ahead of RBI Monetary policy today.

The Nifty too rose by 84 pts at 17,808.99.

The sensex registered days high and low at 59,994.75 and 59,830.93 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,892.50 and 17,855.25 pts.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.43 pc and Small Cap by 0.65 pc.

In 30 scrips, 25 advanced, 4 declined while one remained unchanged.

The gainers were Tata Steel by 3.64 pc to Rs 1336.40, L& T by 1.02 pc to Rs 1729.50, Maruti Suzuki by 0.79 pc to Rs 7550.50 and Infosys by 0.78 pc to Rs 1704.55.

The losers were HCL Technology by 0.50 pc to Rs 1299.70, Hind Unilever by 0.39 pc to Rs 2660.85, HDFC by 0.29 pc to Rs 2720.75 and Asian Paints by 0.19 pc to Rs 3282.25.
