Petrol, diesel prices hiked
New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices were increased once again by 80 paise per litre on Saturday.
According to price notification of Indian Oil Corporation, the petrol in Delhi now costs Rs 98.61 per litre while diesel Rs 89.87 per litre, while the price of petrol on Friday was Rs 97.81 per litre and diesel Rs 89.07 per litre.
In Kolkata, petrol costs Rs 108.01 per litre while diesel is at Rs 93.01.
In Mumbai, a litre of petrol is available at Rs 113.35 while diesel is at Rs 97.55 per litre.
In Chennai, petrol costs Rs 104.43 per litre while diesel is at Rs 94.47 per litre.
This is the fourth hike in the past five days.
The oil companies have been increasing the petrol and diesel prices since March 22 (except on March 24).
The fuel prices were on freeze since November 4, 2021 but the record 137 days hiatus ended on March 22 with an 80 paise per litre increase in rates of petrol and diesel.
