Sensex rises by over 200 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Friday bounced back by 262 pts at 61,186.07 in early trade, as fresh buying was seen in Consumer Discretionary Goods and Services, Energy and FMCG stocks.

The Nifty too moved up by 102.65 pts at 18,280.75.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 61,420.13 and 61,005.56 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 18,314.25 and 18,204.20 pts.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.45 pc and the Small Cap by 0.40 pc.

In 30 scrips, 20 advanced while 10 declined.

The gainers were Bajaj Finserv by 2.52 pc to Rs 19,066.65, HDFC by 2.46 pc to 2,912.80, Bajaj Auto by 2.14 pc to Rs 3,884.10 and Bajaj Finance by 2.05 pc to 7,896.

The losers were Asian Paints by 1.42 pc to Rs 2,960.95, NTPC by 0.71 pc to Rs 146.70, Tata Steel by 0.64 pc to Rs 1,306.10 and Infosys by 0.45 pc to Rs 1,745.95.
