3.6 earthquake hits Meerut, tremors felt in Delhi

New Delhi, Sept 10 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter Scale hit Uttar Pradesh's Meerut area on Sunday as tremors were also felt in Delhi and the  National Capital Region, officials said.

As per the US Geological Survey (USGS) website, the epicentre of the quake was located 6 km from Kharkhauda in Meerut.

The earthquake hit the area at around 6.28 am.

No casualty or damage to property has been reported.

This was the second quake to jolt Delhi in the past 24 hours.

On Sunday, an earthquake measuring  3.8 on the Richter Scale hit Haryana's Jhajjar district.
