Kolkata, Feb 9 (IBNS): Allegation of child molestation by a teacher rocked Kolkata's Carmel Primary School on Friday morning, according to media reports.

Parents of the child have complained that the dance teacher had been molesting the child over the past few months and they came to know about it only the evening before, media reported.

On Friday, other parents came to know about the allegation and broke into a protest in front of the school.

According to ABP Ananda report, the crowd caught hold of the teacher and started beating him up when he was being led out of the school. The Officer in Charge of Tollygunge Police Station too gut hurt in the melee, it reported.

As the protests spilled to the main road, traffic was disrupted on Rashbehari Avenue near Deshapriya Park.

Two other Kolkata schools -- GD Birla and MP Birla - were recently in the news for similar allegations of child molestation in school.
