An International Seminar organised in MAKAIAS on 127th birth anniversary of Maulana Azad

Kolkata, Nov 5 (IBNS) An International Seminar on “Inida’s Critical Tradition and Maulana Azad” is being organised by The MaulanaAbulKalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, (MAKAIAS) on Nov 6 and 7, 2015to mark Maulana Azad’s 127th birth anniversary.

Briefing the media, ShreeradhaDutta, Director, MAKAIAS said, Academia from Russia along with the Professors and Fellows from Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jamia Millia Islamia University and Calcutta University will participate in the 2-day seminar.

The seminar will be an opportunity for the persons carrying out research on the life and works of Maulana Azad.

Wajahat Habibulla, former Chairperson, National Commission for Minorities will deliver special lecture in the concluding session. Moreover,a memorial lecture on Maulana Azad will be addressed by eminent film maker, Muzaffar Alion 30th, November, 2015.

The Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The institute is a centre for research and learning with focus on contemporary affairs in South Asia, Central Asia, Eurasia and West Asia as also on thelife and works of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
