Assam: Police seized 150 cartoons of illegal liquor from a truck in Karimganj

Guwahati: Police seized huge quantity of illegal liquor from a truck in Assam’s Karimganj district along Assam-Tripura border on Thursday.

According to the reports during regular checking the police team had recovered 150 cartoons of illegal liquor from a truck bearing registration number TR-02H-1654 coming from Meghalaya towards Tripura at Churabari area along the inter-state border.

A police official of Churaibari police station said that, the illegal liquor bottles worth Rs 3 lakh were recovered from the truck during checking.

“The truck was coming from Meghalaya towards Tripura. Some egg cartoons and plastic chairs were also found in the truck,” the police official said.

The police officer further said that, a case has been registered in connection with it.
