Assam Rifles conducts free medical camp in Nagaland

Guwahati, Sept 16 (IBNS) : 22 Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N), recently conducted free medical camp and medical check up at Government Middle School, Ziphu Village, Phek District.

PRO, HQ IGAR (North) Lt Col Amitabh Sharma said the aim of the medical camp was to provide free medical treatment and check up to local populace and students of remote areas devoid of requisite medical facilities.

“A specially constituted team under Assistant Commandant Balmuri Avanish, Assam Rifles Medical Officer examined 42 people to include 15 males, 24 females and 3 children. They also carried out medical checkup of 32 students of Government Middle School, Ziphu. Free medicines were provided to the ailing. Apart from the medical assistance, basic knowledge on epidemic diseases including precautions was also imparted,” Sharma said.

On the other hand, 7 Assam Rifles presented sports items to Zisaji Presidency College in  Kiphire district.

The sports items were provided to assist the students in their upcoming sports meet.

Presentation was made to the Principal in presence of staff and students. At this occasion 7 Assam Rifles urged the students to say NO to Drugs, HIV and AIDS and adopt a healthy lifestyle by way of sports.
