Benjamin Netanyahu files kite in Gujarat, Modi shares images on Twitter
Ahmedabad, Jan 17 (IBNS): Visiting Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was rolled out a red carpet welcome during his trip to Gujarat, tried his hand in flying kite on Wednesday.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who visited Gujarat with the Israel PM, shared the rare image where the leader was seen flying a kite.
Modi said just like a kite, the relationship between India and Israel is also ' scaling new heights'.
He said the relationship will benefit entire humankind.
"PM @netanyahu trying his hand at kite flying. Like a kite soaring high, India-Israel friendship is scaling new heights and will benefit not only our citizens but also the entire humankind," Modi tweeted.
Earlier, both the leaders visited the Sabarmati Ashram paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
Lauding both India and Israel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday, said the partnership between the two nations will write a new chapter in the history of humanity.
Modi said this at the inauguration of iCreate Center at Deo Dholera Village in Ahmedabad.
Speaking at the event, Modi said: "The partnership between India and Israel and the mutual plans of development are good signs for a bright future of the two nations."
Modi was accompanied by Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is on a six-day visit to India, at the inauguration of iCreate Center.
Regarding iCreate, Modi said: "The first condition of success is courage. One who can have courage, he can take any decision. I congratulate all young people who are making innovations through iCreate."
The PM also added by saying that he is working towards making all systems in the country "innovation-friendly"
After holding a mega roadshow, Modi and Netanyahu on Wednesday visited the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad and paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi.
Modi, who welcomed Benjamin and his wife Sara at Ahmedabad airport, took his Israeli counterpart to the Ashram travelling an eight-km stretch for a roadshow amid a rousing reception by a huge crowd.
Modi was seen literally taking up the role of a guide for Netanyahu and his wife inside the Ashram. The two PMs also flew kites.
While Netanyahu was wearing a black suit, Modi was fitted in kurta-pajama.
The two leaders even posed for photo-ops.
They will participate in numerous other events during the visit to the state.
Netanyahu will later depart for Mumbai.
He arrived in India on Sunday.
He has already met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind during his stay in New Delhi.
He visited the Taj Mahal in Agra with his wife Sara on Tuesday.
Returning from Agra, he addressed the 3rd annual Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi.
