Birth anniversary of Prophet celebrated across Kashmir

New Delhi, Dec 1 (IBNS): Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), was celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir with religious fervor on Friday.

Thousands of devotees thronged the Hazratbal shrine in Kashmir capital Srinagar housing the relic of the Prophet of Islam (SAW) to have a glimpse of the holy relic.   

Thousands of devotes had participated in nightlong prayers preceding night.

The emotional devotees raised their hands in prayers reciting Quranic verses while having glimpse of the holy relic.

Various religious and social organizations organized Seerat programmes and Milad processions were taken out at many places where speakers highlighted various aspects of the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
