BJP fields Anurag Sharma from Jhansi-Lalitpur seat for Lok Sabha Polls

Jhansi, Apr 6 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday announced industrialist Anurag Sharma as its candidate from Bundelkhand's Jhansi-Lalitpur seat. 

Following Uma Bharti's decision not contest the Lok Sabha polls this time, MLA Ravi Sharma, MLA Ram Ratan Kushwaha, former minister Ravindra Shukla and several others had emerged as claimants for the ticket.


The party selected owner of Baidyanath Group and former MP Vishwanath Sharma's son Anurag Sharma as its candidate from the seat.


The SP-BSP alliance has fielded Shyam Sundar Singh while the Congress-Jan Adhikar Party combine has nominated Shiv Sharan Singh as its caqndidate.


BJP District president Pradeep Sarawgi told UNI that party workers are very happy after the announcement of the candidature for the seat.
