New Delhi, Mar 5 (IBNS): The website of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was reportedly hacked and an inappropriate video was posted on Tuesday.

In the video, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel could be seen.

Following the sharing of the video, the BJP website was shut down.

The first picture of the website now reads, "We'll be back soon! Sorry for the inconvenience but we’re performing some maintenance at the moment. we’ll be back online shortly!"

Divya Spandana/Ramya, who handles the the social media and digital communications for the Congress, took a dig saying, "Bhaiya aur Bhehno if you’re not looking at the BJP website right now- you’re missing out"
