Can't understand how people question holy relationship between father and daughter: Honeypreet Insan

New Delhi, Oct 3 (IBNS): Breaking silence for the first time, Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's adopted daughter, Honeypreet Insan, said she could not understand how some people raise questions about the holy relationship of father-daughter between her and the Dera chief, media reports said.

Honeypreet said this in an interview to India Today.

Speaking about her relationship with Ram Rahim, Honeypreet told the reporter: "I do not understand how can someone question the holy relationship of a father and daughter. My main concern was the way the media projected me. How can they malign a father and daughter's relationship. Can a father not keep his hands on his daughter? Can a daughter not love her father?"

Honeypreet, who is accused of stirring riots in Panchkula and Sirsa, Haryana, after Ram Rahim's conviction in a rape case that dates back to 2002, dismissed all the allegations and said: "I want to ask, how can a girl go alone without appropriate permission in the middle of the force? Later they all said that I was wrong. I just need to say that all evidence is there for the world to see. They accuse me of being involved in riots, but do they have any evidence against me."

Despite court conviction of Ram Rahim for raping two of his Sadhvis (female followers), Honeypreet, attempted to defend the Dera chief. She said in the interview: "One basis of one letter, how can anyone be held guilty? My father is innocent and his innocence will be proved. They have not considered the opinion of other women from dera."

Honeypreet said she will appeal to the higher courts to prove Ram Rahim innocent and also take legal actions after consulting the lawyers. She divulged that will go to Haryana and Chandigarh High Court, which was directed by the Delhi High Court, days ago.

On September 26, the Delhi High Court turned down the anticipatory bail plea of a suspected accomplice of arrested Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, Honeypreet Insan.

The court has directed Honeypreet's lawyer to ask his client to surrender before the Haryana and Chandigarh High court.

Honeypreet Insan aka Priyanka Taneja's lawyer has pleaded for a trasit anticipatory bail for three weeks before the court. Honeypreet was projected as the adopted daughter of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

Honeypreet is accused of conspiring the violence which occurred in Panchkula and Sirsa, immediately after Gurmeet's conviction, that killed 30 odd people.

A lookout notice has been issued for Honeypreet Insan by Haryana Police on September 1.

Honeypreet is the "adopted daughter" of the convicted chief, who was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment after he was found guilty of raping two of his female followers.

The Dera chief also broke down during the verdict and urged the judge to lighten his sentence, but was eventually granted 20 years, 10 years each for sexually exploiting two females.

In addition, the judge also ordered the dera chief to pay Rs 15 lakh compensation each to both the victims.
