CEO from five states to visit West Bengal today prior to Assembly elections

Kolkata, Mar 18 (IBNS) Five Chief Election Officers (CEO) of different states are coming to West Bengal on Friday to observe the preparations for the upcoming assembly election in the state, Election Commission of India (ECI) officials said.
According to the ECI, Punjab CEO V. K. Singh, Karnataka CEO Anil Kumar Jhan, Himachal Pradesh CEO Narendra Chowhan, Chattisgarh CEO Nidhi Chhibbar and Delhi CEO Chanrabhushan Kumar are coming for a five-day trip to Bengal, to take stock of the election preparations in the entire state.
 
The five teams, comprising five members each, will be led by the five CEOs and they will be in the state till Mar 22.
 
The teams will return to Delhi and likely to file a report to the Chief Election Commissioner of India on Mar 23.
 
Meanwhile, few weeks prior to the assembly polls, the ECI on Thursday transferred 37 administrative officers, including four SPs, one DM, two SDPOs, one SDO and two Chief Electoral Officers and twenty-four OCs and ICs, in West Bengal.
 
The assembly election in the state will be commencing on April 4.
