CRPF jawan allegedly commits suicide by shooting himself in Sukma

A Central Security Force (CRPF) jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Saturday, police said.

According to police sources, a soldier shot himself with a service rifle in his barrack in the morning.

He was brought to the Medical College Hospital in Jagdalpur for treatment, where he died.

Sources said the victim was posted in the 227th battalion of the Central Security Force.

The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.

The cause of the suicide was not immediately known.
