Delhi: Nine injured as fire breaks out in Mayapuri

New Delhi/UNI: At least nine people, including two police personnel, were injured in a fire that broke out at a factory in Delhi’s Mayapuri Phase-2 on Wednesday morning, the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) said.

According to DFS, the fire incident was reported at an iron spring factory on the ground floor of the building.

Responding to the call, a total of five fire tenders were rushed to the spot to put out the blaze, where they found some people who had been injured in the fire. The victims were immediately shifted to DDU Hospital.

The fire was brought under control within a few hours after it broke out at about 2 am.

A case about this incident under relevant provisions of the law was being registered at Mayapuri Police Station, and a crime team was called to the spot.

An investigation was underway, Delhi police added.
