Delhi: Sharpshooter from UP's Kasganj arrested in an encounter

New Delhi, Feb 5 (IBNS): A sharpshooter Tanwir from Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj was arrested by police in an encounter in the national capital on Monday morning, media reports said.

Tanwir is accused in a number of cases including a double murder in New Delhi.

However, police could not arrest Tanwir's aide who had escaped.

Police had an information that Tanwir will reach Okhla Mandi area of southeast Delhi with his aide this morning.

Following the information, heavy security was deployed.

Tanwir along with his aide, who had reached the spot in a car, opened fire at police to be only countered.

Tanwir survived his injuries as he was wearing a bulletproof jacket.

Tanwir was finally overpowered by police to be arrested but his aide could manage to escape.
