Gujarat: Truck carrying wedding guests falls off bridge, 28 killed

Ahmedabad, Mar 6 (IBNS): At least 28 people were killed as a truck in which they were travelling  fell off a bridge in Gujarat’s Ranghona village in Bhavnagar district on Tuesday, media reports said.

The passengers belonged to a wedding party.

The incident left 35 others injured.

The vehicle was on its way from Palitana to Botad for the wedding ceremony when the incident occurred.

The vehicle fell off a bridge into dry river bed of Ranghona river.

The injured people were rushed to hospital for treatment.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani condoled the loss of lives in the mishap.

" Saddened by the loss of lives due to a road accident near Ranghola. May those who have been injured recover at the earliest. I pray for the departed souls. Om Shanti," Rupani tweeted.
