New Delhi, Mar 19 (IBNS): The Indian Army on Sunday warned the nation that  Chinese are using messaging app WhatsApp to hack into systems in this country.

The Army posted a warning video on its Twitter handle over the issue.

"The Chinese use all kinds of platforms to penetrate your digital world," warned the Army in the video.

"WhatsApp groups are a new way of hacking into your system. Chinese numbers starting with +86 barge into your groups and start extracting all the data," the video further said.

The Army asked the citizens to remain: "alert, cautious and safe."

Thousands of people use Whatsapp regularly across India.
