Jammu and Kashmir: Infiltration bid foiled in Uri sector

An infiltration bid was foiled by security forces along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday, Army said.

They said the bid was foiled in the Uri sector by joint forces and six pistols and four hand grenades were recovered during the operation so far.

Army in a post on X said that a contact with the infiltrators was established and firefight broke in the area. There is so far no report of any militant casualty.

“OP NARASIMHA BHAIRAVA, URI #Baramulla In a Joint Operation launched by #IndianArmy, @JmuKmrPolice & Intelligence agencies on 21 Oct 23, an infiltration bid was foiled by alert troops along #LoC in #Uri sector, Baramulla. Contact was established with infiltrating terrorists & firefight ensued. 06xPistols & 04xHand Grenades recovered. Operations in progress”, the Army said on X.
