Jammu and Kashmir: Northern Command’s workshop benefits over 150 delegates

Jammu: More than 150 delegates benefitted from A workshop titled as “SMART” (Serving MOs Advanced Resuscitation, Triage and Transport) Capsule organised on Sunday by the Northern Command at Udhampur.

The workshop was inaugurated at Dhruva Auditorium by Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Northern Command Army Commander in presence of Army dignitaries from Udhampur, eminent doctors from civil hospital and CME delegates.

It focused on prioritized and protocolized medical care to be provided during emergency situations.

The pedagogy used was interactive and case scenario based which saw immense participation and involvement form the CME delegates. Faculty was invited from AFMS hospital as well as AIIMS, New Delhi and SMVD Hospital, Katra.

The delegates composed of doctors of Army, Navy and Air Forces from all over the country along with doctors from local hospitals GMCH Jammu, AIIMS Jammu, SMVD Hospital, Katra, District Hospital, Udhampur and 150 delegates benefitted from the program.

The highlight was the workshop organised on mannequins with simulation of real-life case scenarios. Participants were given hands on training and different life serving scenarios were discussed.

Medical poster presentation by doctors was well received and provided opportunity to delegates to showcase their works.

The CME was supported by DRDO & was awarded 12 CME credit points by J&K Medical Council. Conducted under patronage of HQ Northern Command the CME.
