J&K LG Sinha’s administration gives special focus to youth engagement, empowerment: Advisor Farooq Khan

Srinagar/IBNS: Farooq Khan, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor,  Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Labour and  Employment (L&E) Department and Mission Youth, J&K for coordination on implementation of various youth-oriented schemes at Civil Secretariat here.

 

The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary Labour and Employment, Sarita Chauhan, Secretary Tribal Affairs and CEO Mission Youth, J&K, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary among the rest.

Advisor Farooq Khan said that the Mission Youth has the mandate to reach out to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir with a multi-pronged mechanism to engage with them for their overall development within the society and make them important stakeholders in the progress of the entire J&K.

The Advisor further highlighted that under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s special focus given to youth engagement among several initiatives have been launched for their empowerment.

Speaking during the meeting, CEO, Mission Youth, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary said that the Mission Youth will positively engage the youth through integrated and customized interventions in the fields of livelihood generation, education and skill development, financial assistance, sports activities and recreation.

Secretary, L&E Department, Sushma Chauhan said that the close coordination and synchronization of efforts between the two agencies is a prime way to achieve the objective of development and empowerment of youth here.
