Kargil Vijay Diwas: Narendra Modi pays tributes to soldiers

| @indiablooms | Jul 26, 2021, at 03:40 pm

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on Monday paid rich tributes to the soldiers who lost their lives defending India during the 1999 war in Kargil.

" We remember their sacrifices. We remember their valour. Today, on Kargil Vijay Diwas we pay homage to all those who lost their lives in Kargil protecting our nation. Their bravery motivates us every single day," Modi tweeted.

Modi also shared an excerpt from last year's Mann Ki Baat - a monthly radio programme addressed by him on the last Sunday of every month.

According to the Indian Army officials, President Ram Nath Kovind will lay a wreath at the Baramulla War Memorial in north Kashmir.

The Kargil War was fought between India and Pakistan from May to July 1999 in the Kargil district of Kashmir along the Line of Control (LoC).

July 26 is observed as 'Kargil Vijay Diwas' to commemorate India's victory.
