New Delhi/UNI: Former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday said that the names of candidates for 180 plus seats for the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections would probably be announced by the evening.

"Today most probably, they (BJP leadership) are going to announce names of 170 to 180 plus names of the candidates," he told reporters here.

Remaining names will be released later after holding another round of talks, Yediyurappa said.

Replying to a query, ex-CM said almost all sitting MLAs will get the tickets, except few.

Yesterday, BJP's Central Election Committee held a meeting for over two hours and finalised the names of the candidates.

A final round of meeting at Union Home Minister Amit Shah's residence will be held before releasing the list of candidates on Monday.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Yediyurappa, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and other top leaders will be present in the meeting.
