Kashmir: Police recover abducted girl, arrests accused in Baramulla

Srinagar/UNI: Police on Friday recovered a girl, who was allegedly abducted in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, and arrested the accused. 

A police spokesperson said that Police Post Wusan received an information from one person namely Ghulam Hassan Dar that his daughter was kidnapped by an accused, identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Dar. “A case vide FIR No.138/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pattan,” he said.

He said on receipt of this information, officers from Police Station Pattan swung into action and recovered the abducted girl from Tengpora Crossing area of Pattan. “Accused involved in the commission of the crime has also been arrested,” he said.

He said after completing legal and medical formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs, adding further investigation into the case is going on.

“Community members are requested to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood. Community members can share information pertaining to social crimes with police. We reassure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue,” he added.
