Srinagar, Jan 24 (IBNS) : A death- defying stunt by a Kashmiri man lying on railway tracks allowing a train to storm over him, has gone viral on social media, evoking a sharp criticism, while police have assured strict action against the youth lest it becomes a trend in the valley.

On Tuesday evening,  a video went  viral on social media sites, showing a youth lying on track and a train passing over him while another person was capturing the moment on mobile phone.

The video shows the youth celebrates the stunt and shouts to his friend who recorded the video.

The video invited a sharp criticism from a large number of people in the valley, who appealed to the  state  government to take strict action against youth and ensure that nobody else tries this kind of stunt at the risk of one's life.

Former chief minister of state Omar Abdullah also decried the “stupidity” of the act.

“There is something drastically wrong with this sort of adventure seeking. I can’t believe the stupidity of these young men,” Omar wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir police  have taken  cognizance of the video and registered a case against the youth.
