Kerjiwal warns Delhi cabs against overcharging
New Delhi, Apr 18 (IBNS) Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has warned strict action against taxi operators for charging more than government-prescribed rates as complaints poured in on Monday.
With the second phase of the odd-even scheme in force in Delhi, commuters say that app-cabs such as Ola and Uber are applying 'surge fares', according to media reports.
In response, Kejriwal tweeted on Monday, "Strict action, incl permit cancellation n impounding vehicle, to be taken against taxis which charge rates more than govt prescribed rates."
The Delhi government commenced the second phase of the odd-even scheme from Friday.
The scheme will be operated for 15 days.
The scheme was first implemented by the government from Jan 1 and 15.
