Kottiyoor: Two killed, three hurt as auto-rickshaw overturned

Kannur, Mar 29 (UNI) Two persons were killed and three others injured when an auto-rickshaw turned turtle at Kottiyoor near Kelakam on Friday.

According to police, the deceased were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Ramesh Babu (38) of Bavli peruvaka in Waynad district and Santha (31) resident of Aralam Farm.


The injured were Raju (35), Seetha (31) and Aparna (14), all of them are relatives and residing at Aralam farm, have been admitted at government hospital at Manathavadi in Waynad district.


The four member family were returning after attending Manathavadi Valliyoor Kavil temple festival in an auto rickshaw.


The driver had lost control of the auto-rickshaw at the hair pin curve on the ghat road and the vehicle overturned, police said.


Both of them died on the way to hospital, police said.
