Lalu is ‘people’s hero’: Tejashwi says after father’s conviction in third fodder scam

Patna, Jan 24 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Even as a special CBI court in Ranchi convicted Lalu Prasad in the third fodder scam case on Wednesday, Bihar opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav described his father as “people’s hero”.

“We will be able to react after going through the order of the judgment but the people of Bihar think him as their hero. They know how BJP, RSS and more importantly Nitish Kumar have conspired against Laluji,” Tejashwi told the media on Wednesday.

“We will win ultimately,” he declared.

He added the masses in Bihar are angry since “the man who was voted to power is in jail while those asked to sit in the opposition have grabbed power through back door”.

He also alleged the chief minister had been frequently visiting New Delhi not for seeking support to accelerate the pace of development of Bihar but to “hatch conspiracy on how to keep Lalu Prasad entangled in one case after the other to put him behind bars for a long period”.

However, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar denied involvement of the government and said it was a judicial decision.

“We don’t have anything to do with this. It’s a judicial decision, we will not react on it, but will not compromise on our justice and development agenda,” Kumar was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.
