#LokSabhaPoll2019: Paresh Rawal won't contest Lok Sabha polls this year

Mumbai, mar 23 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party leader Paresh Rawal on Saturday said he has informed his party that he will not contest the Lok Sabha polls this year.

Rawal said he remained a  loyal member of the party.

"I request media and friends not to speculate about my nomination. I had informed the party months in advance of my decision to not contest LS elections . I, however, remain a loyal member of BJP and a staunch supporter of @narendramodi," the actor tweeted.

He is a sitting MP from Ahmedabad east.

The actor-turned-politician had defeated Congress’s Himmatsinh Patel by over 3.26 lakh votes in the 2014 general polls.
