Maharashtra: Four dies after lightning struck on them

Aurangabad, Mar 26 (UNI) Four people were killed when lightning struck them at different places in the district today.

Police said here that one Rupa Kumari, daughter of Gupta Sao, was charred to death when lightning struck her at Saharsa village under Mali police station area. The girl died on the spot.

Police said that one Naresh Paswan suffered serious burn injuries when lightning fell on him at Jora village under Amba police station area. Sources said that the mishap took place while he was grazing his cattle. Sources said that Naresh was admitted to a private hospital where he died during treatment.

Similarly, a 65-year old woman Dhanmatia Devi was charred to death when lightning struck her while she was harvesting crops at Kanchan Bigha village under Obra police station area.

In yet another incident, Naresh Pandey (70) died when lightning struck him at Barhki Parhi village under Navinangar police station area while he was harvesting crops.

The bodies have been sent for autopsy, police added.
