Narendra Modi is now followed by over 90 million netizens on Twitter, more than US President Joe Biden

New Delhi: Indian PM Narendra Modi's Twitter account is currently followed by 90.2 million netizens, making him one of the most followed active politicians on the micro-blogging site. He is way ahead of  world leaders like US president Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

As per a list released by the World of Statistics on its official Twitter handle on July 9, Modi is the only Indian who is present in its list of the top 10 most followed persons on Twitter.

Modi stands in the eighth position on the list.

He is ahead of former US President Donald Trump ( 86.6 million followers) and  American singer and actress Lady Gaga (84.1 million followers).

The list is topped by Elon Musk. He has 147 million followers on Twitter.

Interestingly, US President Joe Biden remained below Modi in the list as he is followed by  37.3 million followers on the micro-blogging site.
