Parliament: Lok Sabha adjourned sine die
New Delhi/UNI: Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on Thursday amid uproar by the Opposition members over Adani issue and disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from the Lower House as a member.
As soon as the House assembled for the day, the MPs from Opposition holding placards trooped into the well and raised slogans against the ruling dispensation.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla disapproved the conduct of Opposition members and said that their behaviour was not in the interest of the House and the country.
"Your behaviour is not in the interest of the House and the country. I want to allow discussion on every issue. But, you don't want and in a planned manner you obstruct the proceedings of the House," miffed Birla said to the Opposition members.
Amid the din, the Speaker also informed the House that five Bills were passed in the House in the ongoing Budget Session.
Later, Birla adjourned the House sine die.
The Opposition has been demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the Hindenburg Research report over Adani Group.
The Hindenburg Research report alleged the Adani Group had engaged in stock manipulation and accounting fraud schemes over the course of decades.
Last month, a Surat court convicted Gandhi in a defamation case for his "all thieves have Modi surname" remarks at a rally in Karnataka’s Kolar in 2019.
Later, he was disqualified from Lok Sabha as a member following his conviction in the case.
