Patel riot: Gujarat govt. to hold talks with Patel leaders
A mob of 5000 agitators demanded the release of Hardik Patel, the face of the campaign and the man who is presently in jail, booked for sedition charges.
The protests turned ugly, as two government offices were torched by the angry men.
A lathi charge and shelling of tear gas followed.
The incident left around 30 injured, including five policemen.
Though curfew was imposed in the affected area, it was later called off on Monday morning.
The riots took place in Mehsana, home district of Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel.
