Kochi, Aug 18 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday chaired a high level meeting in Kerala to review the situation of incessant rain-caused flood, which claimed 324 lives so far, in the southern state of the country.

On Twitter, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) shared images of the meeting, in which Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is also present.

Over two lakh people have been displaced due to the food, NDTV reported.

Modi, who reached Kochi on Saturday, will take an aerial survey of the flood-hit parts of Kerala.

Both Modi and Vijayan spoke couple of times about the flood situation prior to the Prime Minister's visit to the state.

The Official Twitter page of the Kerala Chief Minister said: "Kerala is facing its worst flood in 100 years. 80 dams opened, 324 lives lost and 223139 people are in about 1500+ relief camps. Your help can rebuild the lives of the affected. Donate to https://donation.cmdrf.kerala.gov.in  #StandWithKerala."
