Mumbai, Sep 29 (IBNS): As India gets ready to celebrate Dussehra on Saturday, President of India Ram Nath Kovind has urged the people of the country to build an ideal family, society, country and the world while fighting against all evils.

In his message to the nation, the President said, " "On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, I extend my greetings to all fellow citizens.

The festival of Dussehra signifies the victory of good over evil and the power of ethical and moral values.  These values are of universal appeal and have great relevance for all mankind today.

Celebrated in different parts of our country as well as overseas, this festival is an expression of the shared values and culture of our great nation. It reminds us of the human and social values related to the life of Lord Rama. The ideal character of Lord Rama teaches the lessons of dedication to duty, morality and social service to all of us.

Let us resolve to make our contribution to building an ideal family, society, country and the world while fighting against all evils.”

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu  in his message said, “I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.

Celebrated with traditional fervor and zeal, the festival of Dussehra reminds us of the victory of Good over Evil and reaffirms our faith in the noble and virtuous life of Lord Rama. Dussehra celebrations not only convey the eternal message that good always triumphs over evil, but also play an important role in promoting amity and camaraderie amongst the people.

May this festival bring peace, harmony and prosperity in the nation."

Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Culture on Friday said that Red Fort (Lal Quila), Delhi will be closed for tourists and visitors on Saturday, September 30, 2017, for tourists and visitors on account of the visits by VVIPs to the Dussehra celebration outside the Red Fort.
